(no subject)

Who: all, gods and mortals
Where: the foundations of a city
When: 199, on what should be the start of an Autumn morning
What:

[ It has been a long, hot night of work. Those about to turn in for the day, may not notice the young man in black climbing the tallest structure he can. It is just as the horizon is about to burn that he speaks. His voice is slurred slightly in the way of one who has not been able to hear themselves speak for some time, but the words carry impossibly loud and perfectly through all the city. ]

Hark, O gathered! A new tapestry has begun!
Still your hands and open your ears to this prophecy is spoken to both god and mortal in tandem.
Our lady has put aside the threads of red fire and graying earth.
She weaves now of a deep, wide blackness, though which we are the only true light.
Each nation shall bind together, making a hundred vessels and a hundred more.
In this way we will be delivered from the wrath of the mother of our father.

But there will be a heavy price for this salvation!
Cords that were once unending, shall too meet sheers.
The very frame on which all things were woven must itself be shattered- each piece.
We are burried in the cracking hills, in the boiling sea, in the holy places now dying.
Destroy us, and in our destruction shall be your deliverance.
Sabra La Tau will die. Sabra La Tau will live.
Sabra La Tau will become the stars.

Ha! So be it!

[fingers fall silent upon the strings also brief placeholder for MEAT SHENANGINS]

Is this how we come to pass? To defuse, to the last?

[She'd already pulled back, fist ready to start this properly when she pauses, looking at their brother.]

...

That might be interesting.

I'm focusing on the easier part first.

You get to think of those details.

[identity profile] thehydran.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
I thought you'd like it. It'll be a good challenge, right?

[identity profile] bearinmind.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
An interesting prospect, isn't it?

[identity profile] thehydran.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, yeah. I'll see if any Cepheans think it's possible.

[identity profile] thehydran.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
A strange one.

[identity profile] bearlybreathing.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Might be cooler in the stars.

[identity profile] thehydran.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Chrysos.

[identity profile] bearinmind.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Undeniably.

[had been mostly asleep already, but snaps awake and stumbles out of the tent to listen.]

Stars...?

[identity profile] bearinmind.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
I should hope so.

[identity profile] hath-no-fury.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
How many left their walls?

[identity profile] thehydran.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Do you know anything of the stars?

[identity profile] like-a-truck.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
[Already bouncing around a little]

Maybe for her!

[identity profile] bearlybreathing.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Of course, not everyone here can fly... that might be a problem to deal with.

If they're to destroy us, how would they return after she's calmed?

Father still has a plan.

[identity profile] bearinmind.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Somewhat. You could say that astronomy is Ursa's national pastime.

[identity profile] hath-no-fury.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
It's true: you don't have a chance at all.

[identity profile] bearinmind.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
Between Cepheus, Pavo, and Ursa. . . [trails off, thoughtfully.]

If this is a legitimate decree from the Gods, perhaps they'll deign to lend a hand.

[identity profile] bearlybreathing.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure we could build it, if they made it fly..

[identity profile] like-a-truck.insanejournal.com 2012-09-16 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
You wanna say that again?
