Who: Note and Muirin
Where: An Island
When: King's Year 192ish?? (before Note met his own crew)
What: An Encounter

[The night is still fairly young, the sea calm and the breeze balmy. It's a gentle night, and the sailors are in good spirits despite their situation, as they had the luck to come across this small, secluded island just when their ship was badly in need of emergency repairs. The jagged rise of land is softened by the thick foliage that has made it's determined way over much of the island, leaving only the sandy cove bare, where the ship now rests, hidden by the island itself and its many broad-leafed trees.

Nothaniel, having taken his meal and his turn at the watch, decides to stretch his legs on the island a bit with some of the others while the tide is low and the captain will allow it (to the hoots and friendly jeering of their peers, warning them of sea spirits and the like).

The firefly dance of Messenger's Flames over a ridge of stones lures him away from the rest of the sailors and now he stands at the top of a rocky outcropping by the shore, watching the bugs flit through the water...]

Who: Booklovers, residents and happenstance travellers
Where: Corehaven, Cepheus
When: Year 194, early fall
What: The Annual People's Faire of Lore and Learning, a.k.a. Nomus, a.k.a. That Week Where Books Are All Over The Place a.k.a. bibliowl mating season

[ if you happen to be visiting or passing through any Cephean town worth its salt this time of year, you're bound to find the main streets by the seeming flood and bustle of people and books, books, books everywhere. Tables and crates and stalls of every imaginable piece of literature that pen could set to paper, regardless of genre, length, age or origin; many rarely seeing the light of day for the rest of the year, or indeed at all. Bartering is as acceptable as payment in coin, with many a pair of well-loved tomes exchanging hands; and some owners are marked with a generous streak at this time of year, offering at times impressive spreads of the written word for no greater price than a promise of care and appreciation.

In the bigger cities the fairs extend for several blocks in all directions, in various parts of the city, open from dawn to dusk; and in the grandest of them, such as that of Corehaven, gaslight keeps some tables laid out, and opens others, throughout the night.

Flocks of bibliowls roost thickly in the eaves of buildings at this time of year, hooting cheerfully in the evenings. ]

Who: Noric and Xavier
Where: ramshackle rustic house near the Lacerta border of Lepus
When: Year 185, late spring (and onwards)
What: married life

[In the kitchen, Noric shouts through the door into the next room.]

Xavier, either you move this pile of books from where they are, or they will tragically find themselves knocked into the fire.

Who: A small Pavo
Where: The Delphinian shoreline, close to one of the smaller villages outside the capitol
When: Year 192, spring
What: The wind, the stars, the waves

[The moons are almost full tonight, rising together and casting purple shadows across the sands. The stars are bright and clear, the wind gentle enough that the waves of the incoming tide are small and barely capped with white.

The last of the fishing boats has been drawn in, the night is almost quiet . . . and small footsteps make their way down to the beach.]

Who: Adventurers, traders, explorers and vagabonds
Where: Anywhere at all
When: Year 195, late spring
What:

*perhaps you live in a port town, perhaps you're just passing through. maybe you're looking to trade, seeking passage, or just trying to stow away. maybe you're not at the ports at all, but there's a trading crew there anyway. after all, landlocked locations need trades too, right? or maybe it's not a trade you seek, but adventure. whatever you need, there's a ship and its crew passing through, and maybe, just maybe, they can help you with what you need*

((OOC: Open for tagging whenever with whatever! I'll hit it as I get notifs.))

Who: Chrysos, Tide
Where: SOMEWHERE OUT AT SEA, south of Cephean shores
When: Year 201 193, winter
What: 8(((

[ there were many things Chrysos Kenni had never, in fact, needed nor wanted to ever add to his list of life experiences, such as it went. Many things not unreasonable to exclude. He was sure Red would even agree on some of them.

Such as this one in particular, which involved aching arms clinging on to a ragged chunk of boat lumber in the midst of turbulent waters, dark clouds overhead, with nothing but more cold, cold salt water in sight all around, and the increasingly sinking feeling in his chest that there might be no getting out of this one. ]

Who: Fylla, Deji
Where: Somewhere in Cygnus near the Tower
When: Year 194, some time early Summer.
What: Finding a lost boy....

[She was an Ophiuchus who served Huntress. Of course with that came certain duties. Such as being a bloodhound because when you could track anyone, everyone wanted you to find their missing things. Usually, Fylla didn't mind this.]

[...usually what she needed to find wasn't so close to the place they were lost FROM. At least not without being in some sort of wilderness, but this was the middle of the city...]

[She swears, if this kid wasn't tied up in the basement of the building she was headed to, she was going to smack someone...]

Who: IT IS A MYSTERY
Where: Somewhere in the port of Delphinus
When: Year 194, late summer, midnight
What:

[A young woman sits out on a long, lonely dock, her long hair billowing about her as she runs an idle hand through it. The tide is low, so her bare feet just barely skim the surface of the water, sending ripples outward. Her eyes are fixed on the scenery before her--the ocean still and inky black, the lights of the port city reflected across it. A lighthouse beacon shines in the distance.

The stars glimmer overhead, just as vivid.]

Stupid excuse for a ship! [she kicks at the torn-up rowboat she used to flee her sinking ship with.]

[Now she's stuck on a relatively small island in the middle of no where.]
