(no subject)

Who: Lotus, Tide
Where: SOMEWHERE OUT AT SEA
When: Year 190, Autumn
What: Shipwreck D8

Stupid excuse for a ship! [she kicks at the torn-up rowboat she used to flee her sinking ship with.]

[Now she's stuck on a relatively small island in the middle of no where.]

[Your surroundings are inconspicuous enough...devoid of life but for the plants and tropical birds. The sharp chill of the seabreeze defends you from the incessant blaze of the sun over your head, beating down on you and your decrepit boat.

It is certainly a sad, lonely situation.

But for a woman of the sea, senses sharp, mind (surely!) clear of the drink--perhaps you'll get the feeling you're not entirely without company.]

[Nothing deigns you with a response. Perhaps you imagined it? Surely after countless long hours in the sun, dehydration, panic...]

[Yes, the injuries are a point of interest...as is the peculiarity of her traveling alone on dangerous seas.

I wonder, as you retreat back toward the meager treeline, are you paying close enough attention to notice a disruption in the normal pattern of the tide?]

[Were you paying attention, the rippling ceases after a few moments, as if something at the surface has retreated further into the depths.

Some time later--minutes, perhaps, it's hard to say--a figure joins you, sea-soaked bandages in hand, posture carefully nonthreatening.]

....do you need assistance?

[....y...ep. He sidesteps it, lightning fast, almost like it was a reaction he expected. Because it was.]

Please calm down. Were I here to hurt you, it would have already been done.

[He's still guarded, though not hostile despite your efforts to murder him]

Because you will surely die otherwise.

And when they do, they can find their Captain safe and healing. Wounds such as those do not heal easily in humans.

[He approaches her cautiously, bandages still in hand]

Where are the injuries?

[identity profile] overclocking.insanejournal.com 2011-12-02 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
...a wound from a gun?

[He applies the bandages carefully--not particularly practiced, though it's clear this isn't the first time he's done it, either. Curious.]

The salt soaked in will help them heal.

[...'-' you sure are tempting fate, lady, but he doesn't react to the smacking aside from leaning back slightly]

You expected a painless gunshot wound?

[identity profile] overclocking.insanejournal.com 2011-12-02 11:20 am (UTC)(link)
I would be using alcohol if there were any. That would certainly hurt worse.

[identity profile] overclocking.insanejournal.com 2011-12-03 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
[Good decision. He ties off the bandages and takes a few pointed steps back.]

Do you have a plan? Or are you just going to wait?

[identity profile] overclocking.insanejournal.com 2011-12-03 12:31 pm (UTC)(link)
And then? Set off on dangerous seas with no supplies, not even a sail?

. . .

I am familiar with every major trade route used by human crafts. With my guidance it would be possible to intercept a tradeship before five moonsets. They could return you to your port.

[Wouldn't you like to know]

My motivations are not entirely selfless.
