Why do you stay in Lepus?

[frowns, but it's a thinking frown]

Where else would I go? I'm still a Lepus.

And I'm an Orion, on the other side of the continent.

Well, I don't want to compare, but Lepus and those who belong to Lepus are safe here. W--They are loyal, even when they cross the line. I don't know. I can't imagine living somewhere else. As painful as it can be here, it's not hopeless, not yet.

Eventually, Lepus will change. All the sacrifices, the experiments will be different. If I can make that happen, then I'm willing to stay.

[he's silent for a while]

I don't know that much about the other countries. What I've seen of Lacerta when I visit the border town is all right.

We could always travel. Find one you like.
